How to Tone Arms and Legs
The arms and the legs are oftentimes forgotten during regular workouts and many times, people focus on losing weight and on developing their biceps and their abs. The legs and the arms tend to be overlooked. However, there is nothing uglier than seeing flabby fat hanging down on your arms or having fat legs or skinny ones that stand out against your muscular physique.
In order to help you get rid of all that unwanted fat, here are some tips you can use anywhere in order to burn calories and fat in those hard to reach areas:
Use a bicycle
Using a bicycle every day is very efficient in toning your legs. The physical exercise that you get from pedaling will surely have an impact on the legs. Studies show that if you use a real bike or a stationary one, you can lose between 500 and 600 calories in an hour! You can use the bike to visit friends or to go shopping and you will hit two birds with one stone: on the hand one, you will tone your legs and on the other hand, you can take the time to visit friends or relatives and have fun in the process.
Use a ball or a stack of books
In order to perform one of the best toning exercises for your arms, you will need an object like a ball or a stack of books. For this exercise, you have to get your body into plank mode and place one hand on the object. Lift your body up and gently go down until your chest touches the floor. Then, move the object in the other hand and perform the same exercise. This is a physical exercise that will burn a lot of calories in your arms. It was specifically developed for your arms. In order to give you the results you want, you have to do at least 5 of these on each arm.
Leg rolls
This is another exercise designed to help you tone your legs. As the name suggests, it involves you laying down on your back, lifting your legs up and doing ‘leg rolls’, which are circles with your leg. On the one hand, this exercise will stimulate all the muscles in your leg and on the other hand, you will lose the fat that is hanging there. Two birds with one stone!
Clean and press windmill
This is an exercise that stimulates not only your arms but also your abs and your legs. It involves standing with your legs slightly apart and holding a dumbbell in one hand. The ‘windmill’ movement refers to your body doing a circle until your right-hand touches your left leg and vice versa. The dumbbell sets in the hand that does not touch the leg. This is an exercise that does not burn a high number of calories, but which definitely helps you tone your arms. The best thing about it is the fact that it can be done anywhere, there is no need for you to go to the gym.
Biceps and arm circles
This exercise focuses on what the name suggests: on performing circles with your arms. You will need two dumbbells for this exercise. Stand and hold your dumbbells in your hands and then move your hand in the front and then towards you, as if you were asking somebody to come over. Do it one hand at a time, not both at the same time. In order for this exercise to be efficient, you have to do at least 20 circles with each hand.
Toning your arms and legs is very important for the overall look of your body. Many people tend to ignore them, but the truth is, nobody likes fat hanging down their arms or fat legs. These simple exercises can be performed anywhere, so you don’t need a gym subscription to perform them. At the same time, you don’t need hours and hours of workout to see the results. Overall, these few exercises are bound to help you have a more toned body and stay healthy.
